General Licenses

What does General Licenses mean?

General Licenses are a special form of export licenses, which are intended to facilitate trade in goods, technologies and financial transactions requiring a license. They have the same effects as all other export licenses, but do not have to be applied for. Instead, they are issued ex officio: As a result, all exports that meet the respective requirements are automatically licensed.

In contrast to individual import licenses, AGG licenses allow more than just one export. They offer exporters the advantage of immediate delivery and maximum planning security – at least for the duration of the general license. The AGG of BAFA are published in the Federal Gazette.
